What today is the United States looked a lot different in 1836. Just two states existed west of the Mississippi: Missouri and Louisiana. Even Florida, Michigan and Arkansas were still just territories, while there was still a dispute over whether the upper part of Maine should belong to us or the United Kingdom.

Bridgeport (West Virginia) High School students earn

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. (WV News) — West Virginia students competed virtually in the state SkillsUSA competition in March, with a pair of Bridgeport students showcasing their smarts. Dalton Nutter and Tayshaun Douglas, who both attend Bridgeport High School and United Technical Center in Gore, earned silver medals in the March 26 competition.
